In 1997, Ron Alvesteffer joined SEI as the company’s first manager. Three years later, he was promoted from Sales Manager to Vice President of Sales. In July 2002, Ron was named President. And in July of 2015, Ron was named President & CEO of SEI.
Through his leadership, SEI has averaged double-digit annual revenue growth, expanded into eleven states and opened twenty-five new regional offices.
Ron helped SEI create a unique culture for employees by developing SEI’s Vision to “work with our employees to help them achieve their personal, professional and financial goals.” That Vision was driven by the belief that people are SEI’s greatest competitive advantage and that creating a world-class culture would attract and keep the right talent.
Ron partnered with his leadership team to implement SEI’s SR5 (Scorecards, ROI’s, Quarterly 5/15’s) Performance Measurement System, which has resulted in shared success for employees and the company.
As a result, SEI has been recognized as one of the Nation’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For five consecutive years, was named to the Inc.5000 List of America’s Fastest-Growing Privately Held Companies for seven consecutive years, and most recently received the Gold Stevie Award for Customer Service Department of the Year – Computer Hardware.
In 2007, Ron was honored as one of the “Forty under Forty” Business Leaders in West Michigan for his leadership and community involvement. Ron is an active member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and formerly served as both the local chapter chair as well as the education chair. He also serves on the Board of the Spectrum Health Foundation.
Ron received his BA in Secondary Education from Central Michigan University in 1992.
Mark Thomas is the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the sales team. He is actively involved in the leadership development of the Regional Sales Managers.
Mark joined SEI in 1997 as an Account Executive and opened SEI’s South Bend office. He led the company in sales, while also helping others on the team to meet their goals. In 2002, Mark was promoted to Regional Sales Manager.
Under his leadership, the sales team achieved double-digit annual revenue growth, and in 2004, Mark was named Vice President of Sales. Through Mark’s commitment and dedication to SEI, his highly motivated sales team continues to excel year after year.
Mark assists in strategic growth plans and office expansion and is involved with the development of major accounts. He develops and directs the sales training for the SEI sales process and oversees all phases of the sales cycle.
Mark earned his Associate of Business degree from Baker College.
Dwight Strayer is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for SEI and provides both strategic and operational leadership. Dwight oversees service delivery and support operations and works with his leadership team to develop future leaders as SEI continues to grow.
Dwight brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as a result of multiple positions at Service Express. He began his career as one of SEI’s first field engineers in 1988. After years of field support, Dwight became IT Director in 1999 and automated a majority of the service and support processes used at SEI. In 2000, Dwight was named Vice President of Service. Under his leadership, SEI’s service teams delivered exceptional profits with sustainable growth. In 2012, Dwight was named Chief Operating Officer.
Dwight currently serves as a Board Member of the SIA (Service Industry Association).
He holds a Computer and Electronics Technology degree from ITT Institute in Grand Rapids.
Kraig Harper is SEI’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Facilities Manager. In his capacity as CFO, Kraig is responsible for strategic planning and employee development for SEI’s financial, human resource and information technology departments.
In 1999, Kraig joined SEI as its first corporate controller. Four years later, he was promoted to Chief Financial Officer.
Prior to joining SEI, Kraig spent five years in public accounting in the audit and tax areas, as a registered CPA. He then became corporate controller for a computer hardware reseller and was responsible for the accounting and administrative operations.
Kraig introduced SEI to its Performance Measurement System (SR5 – Scorecards, ROI’s, Quarterly 5/15’s) designed to set goals and measure results at the corporate, team and individual level. This system is instrumental in driving SEI’s growth and in helping employees reach their personal, professional and financial goals.
MiBiz and the West Michigan chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI) named Kraig CFO of the Year in 2013.
He currently serves as Board Member for the West Michigan Chapter of ACG, is an active member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, holds the position of Treasurer and Chair of the Personnel Committee at the Corinth Reformed Church, and is a Board Member of the Big Red Foundation.
Kraig received his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Western Michigan University in 1989, and his CPA accreditation in 1994.
