For over twenty years, we have been maintaining and repairing critical servers, locally stocking the right parts, improving skills with comprehensive hands-on training, and continually meeting our customers' needs.

Our History

Since 1986, Service Express has been delivering on-site data center maintenance for mission critical servers. Formerly a division of a Grand Rapids, Michigan reseller, SEI was incorporated in 1993.

Over the next two decades, our expertise grew and we expanded our supported products to include IBM, HP, Sun, Dell, and ProLiant servers, along with EMC and STK storage equipment and software support.

To accommodate current and future growth, SEI opened a central warehouse and training facility in Grand Rapids in 2009. The Broadmoor Technical Center holds over 35,000 parts and has 8,000 sq ft training and lab area with servers for engineer training.


SEI President Ron Alvesteffer shares our story in "The SEI Way - values and practices of a growing company". The e-book includes our strategy for growth and how we are able to achieve great results for our customers, our employees and our company.

We currently have fifteen offices in eight states and continue to bring our SEI brand of service to new regions every year.
